Factors Affecting Satisfaction with Clinical Practice and Nursing Professional Values in Nursing Students

Abstract
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of satisfaction with clinical practice and nursing professional value, and influencing factors in nursing students during experiencing clinical practice.

Methods : The data were collected for descriptive study from 200 students in I city from June 5 to 12, 2017. For data analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and Multiple regression were performed using SPSS WIN 19.0.

Results : Satisfaction with clinical practice was scored 3.59 points and nursing professional values was scored 3.82 points out of 5 on average. Satisfaction with clinical practice was higher under the age of 29(t£½2.78, p£½.014), male students(t£½2.70, p£½.008), and third grade(t£½3.53, p£½.001). Satisfaction for clinical practice was positively related to personal relationship(r£½.26, p£½£¼.001), period of clinical practice (r£½.17, p£½.019), and professional values(r£½.576, p£½.000). Nursing professional values was positively relate to personal relationship(r£½.34, p£¼.001), and colleague relationship(r£½.20, p£½.004). The factors affecting satisfaction with clinical practice were grade(¥â£½.236), gender(¥â£½.162), personal relationship(¥â£½.172), & religion (¥â£½.145) and explained 13.8% of it. Satisfaction with clinical practice(¥â£½.527) and personal relationship(¥â £½.209) explained 36.7% of nursing professional values.

Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, to enhance nursing Professional values, it is necessary to improve the nursing student¡¯s satisfaction for clinical practice and to explore the affecting factors on them.
